Featured Magnum Research Develops Suppressed .22 LR Barrel Jacki Billings November 13, 2017 0 COMMENT Magnum Research is set to release a suppressed .22LR barrel the company says it’s worked on for over a year. The Tactical Tensioned Suppressed barrel, or TTS, weighs just slightly over 1-pound and offers a .875-inch diameter. The lightweight, patented barrel uses the space inside the outer tensioning tube in addition to the monolithic baffle stack in order to suppress noise. The barrel’s components are hard coat anodized with the set-up requiring no tools to field strip. The barrel features a BENZ chamber with tensioned hammer forged barrel liner. The steel liner inside the TTS-22 barrel is 16.1-inches long, which keeps you from having to file SBR paperwork with the ATF. Available in 2018, the TTS-22 barrel will be offered in a standalone aftermarket product; but will also make an appearance on Magnum Research’s semi-automatic rifle lineup. The aftermarket barrel will work alongside Ruger 10/22 non-takedown rifles. The Magnum Lite TTS-22 rifle is slated to be incorporated with Magnum Research’s rifle series in early 2018, equipped with the new TTS-22 barrel. The Magnum Lite TTS-22 rifle features an ambidextrous lightweight thumbhole 10/22 stock with a stock comb height constructed to allow shooters to comfortably aim with mounted optics. The stock design also offers a checkered semi-palm swell on both sides of the pistol grip in addition to a molded-to-fit hard rubber butt plate attached with screws. The 4.8-pound rifle ships with one 10 round magazine and provides an integral scope base for optics. The TTS-22 barrel is set to hit the consumer market touting a price of $399, while the company’s 20.5-inch Magnum Lite TTS-22 rifle featuring the TTS-22 barrel is priced at $860.
