Omaha Brewing Company Introduces Realtree-Wrapped Beer

Realtree Outdoors has partnered up with Omaha Brewing Company to introduce its first-ever camo-wrapped craft beer. Canning of the Realtree-wrapped beer, Gnat Knocker, took place on August 2, 2018. Omaha Brewing Company crew canned over 400 cases of the new lager, equaling 10,000 cans of Realtree beer that's ready to ship. Gnat Knocker will initially be available in Columbus, Georgia and surrounding areas.

“We're really excited about this partnership because both of us are family-oriented companies and we both share the same values,” said Tyler Jordan, Realtree Outdoors PR marketer, and TV host. “With them being so close to Columbus, Georgia, we saw this as a natural partnership. We're excited about the future together.”

“The reason we paired with Realtree is because we're a family-run business and we're all about hunting, fishing, and shooting. Pairing with Realtree Outdoors was a natural thing for me; it was a no-brainer,” said Doc, Omaha Brewing Company owner. “They're family-oriented, and that's we're about also. It means a lot to us to be able to partner up with them.”

We asked Doc to explain Gnat Knocker in his own words:

Gnat Knocker is a very drinkable beer, in the beer world it's called a sessionable beer. This is a German helles lager; it's super light and super smooth. All the ingredients come from Germany except for the heart and soul, which is the water, which comes from right up under Omaha Brewing Company.

It is one of those things you can drink a lot of or you can drink a few and be happy because it's just so easy to go down. It doesn't have a lot of hops in it, so that makes it, again, easier to drink.

The name came about after we had Canadian visitors who had never seen gnats before. They asked if we could make a beer to get rid of the gnats. When you drink it, you just don't care as much about the gnats.

So what's up with the alligator on the can? Omaha Brewing Company incorporates its easily identifiable gator on most cans because alligators are prevalent around the brewery. “When we bought this property, my cousin was coming down this road, and the chainlink fence was open, a 5-foot alligator was walking right into the brewery grounds,” said Doc.
