Guns Tactical Solutions TSAR-300 Recoil Staff May 14, 2014 0 COMMENT Tactical Solutions of Boise, Idaho has a history of producing good looking, lightweight weapons like the Pac-Lite and Trail-Lite. They are known for their expertise and innovation when it comes to the .22LR but they aren’t limited to that caliber, nor to weapons either (they also make suppressors, for instance, as well as upgrades and conversion kits). The new TSAR-300 from TacSol is an AR15 AAC 300 BLK upper designed to provide the versatility of a short-barreled rifle (SBR) upper without the hassle of additional NFA paperwork. It has a bore length of 11″ with a permanently attached shroud that extends overall length to 16.1″; the intention here is to attach a suppressor within that shroud (minimum length of 6.5″, max suppressor OD 1.75″). Note that it comes with an inert (“fake”) can attached (no baffles, nothing to make it illegal). Throw the TSAR-30 it to your AR15 lower of choice and attach a suppressor if you are so inclined and you’re good to go. The TSAR-300 upper weighs in at 5.5lbs. It has full length rails at 12, 3, 6 and 9:00 positions and utilizes a pistol length gas system. It’s full-auto rated with a milspec bolt carrier group and ships with a 10 round magazine. None of the RECOILweb team have had their hands on the TSAR-300 yet (let us know in the comments if this is something you’d like to see further evaluated), but Jeff Quinn has a really good video posted over on Gunblast. The whole video is worth watching but if you’re pressed for time he really starts talking about upper specifics at 4:28. You get a series of good close up looks at the upper starting about 7:44. More information here or on their Facebook page.
