The Ultimate Firearms Destination for the Gun Lifestyle

Dead Air Armament Goes Live

A new suppressor company has hit the scene. What's significant about this is the involvement of two key players who originally helped develop the industry to where it is today. Dead Air Armament's operations will be headed by SilencerCo co-founder,Mike Pappas heading up operations and former SilencerCo designer, Todd Magee, will be running the R&D department.

The initial product offering from Dead Air Armament includes the 7.62 Sandman line of suppressors. The 7.62 Sandman-S is the baseline with “S” denoting short, coming in at 6.8 inches and weighing 17.3 ounces. The QD suppressors are detached with one hand and can be utilized with multiple firearms chambered in 5.56mm, .300 Blackout, or 7.62/.308, and are rated for up to .300 Win Mag. A detachable front cap conceals a flash suppressor for added signature concealment and can be replaced in the event that it is damaged. The Sandman-L ups the ante with 31 decibel sound reduction when firing standard 7.62 ammunition. They tout it as the best performing 7.62 suppressor available. Overall length comes in at 8.9 inches. The mount for both of these models is manufactured with 17-4 stainless steel and a Nitride finish. A Cerakote finish is given to the entire suppressor for added corrosion protection.

Last in the lineup is the 7.62 Sandman-Ti, which utilizes titanium for the tubes rather than the stainless steel utilized by other suppressors in the  line. This model is designed specifically for law enforcement and features integrated threading for direct mounting. “High quality materials” apparently play a large role in Dead Air Armament's products. All baffles that go into the Sandman line of Suppressors are manufactured with 100% Stellite in lieu of stainless steel.

Co-Founder, Mike Pappas says,

“I'm finally building the no-compromise cans that I've always wanted to make. No corporate bottom lines to deter the mission. The only thing that matters to Dead Air and myself is ‘how does it sound?' And the Sandman sounds awesome…”

In addition to the Sandman Line, Dead Air Armament will be releasing a .22 specific suppressor, the Mask-22. The .22lr Suppressor will be manufactured with a combination of titanium and (17-4 PH) stainless steel, integrated direct thread mounting, easy disassembly for cleaning, and a Cerakote finish for long term protection.
