9mm Tommy Gun From Auto-Ordnance Now Shipping

Published by

Auto-Ordnance is now shipping its new 9mm Tommy Gun to dealers. Since the Thompson has been manufactured in .45 ACP for over a hundred years, some might claim that this is sort of heresy while others will enjoy the cheaper ammo bill.

Even though stuffing 9mm into a Thompson mag might be a bit weird, the rifle does share a ton of features that tie it to John Thompson's original. Auto-Ordnance fitted a Cutts style compensator, American walnut, a finned barrel, and a vertical foregrip giving the rifle a distinctive Tommy Gun feel.

The 9mm Chicago Typewriter will carry an MSRP of $1364 and should be available at Auto-Ordinance dealers now.

(Greeley, PA) – Thompson Auto-Ordnance, maker of the famous “Tommy Gun” and other iconic firearms throughout history, is happy to announce that the new Deluxe model Thompson in 9mm is now shipping to dealers and distributors.

Since 1915, the “Tommy Gun” has been manufactured in .45 ACP. Kahr Firearms Group brought innovation to life when they recently announced plans for the 9mm Thompson model T5-9L20. The 9mm version is an original design by Thompson Auto-Ordnance in-house engineers, using the original Thompson platform. After much anticipation, the 9mm Thompson is now shipping.

The 9mm model features all the classic details of John Thompson's original. The frame and receiver are machined from a solid billet of aluminum, and the buttstock, grip and vertical fore grip are all made from American Walnut. The T5-9L20 is offered with one 20-round stick magazine. The finned barrel measures 16.5 inches and 18 inches with the compensator. It has an overall length of 41 inches and features a front blade sight and an open rear adjustable. The MSRP is $1364.
