A Med Kit You’ll Actually Carry–The DARK Shingle

Dark Angel Medical has been supplying great med kits, gear, and training since their inception. We all know we should carry medical gear on our rigs, but the real pain in the ass has been how. How much space does it take up? Where are you going to put it? Dark Angel Medical has come up with a variety of solutions, ranging from full bags to pocket sized, and they just added something new that doesn't take up precious MOLLE real estate: The DARK Shingle.

Here's what they have to say about it:

Designed to be worn on backpacks and virtually anywhere on a plate carrier or other MOLLE surface, the D.A.R.K. Shingle is a low-profile trauma kit designed to be deployed from either side. The Shingle itself is 500D nylon with “male” MOLLE webbing on back designed to be woven and tucked and “female” MOLLE slots on front so that other gear can be mounted while still keeping a low profile. The Shingle is closed on either side with ¾” hook and loop and the sleeve has pull tabs on either side and is constructed of 400D sailcloth to both protect the insert and facilitate easy removal from the shingle.

Insert components:
1 x Combat Gauze LE, MIL or CELOX Rapid
1 x Pair Nitrile Gloves
1 x Nasopharyngeal airway
1 x H&H Mini Compression Bandage
1 x HALO Chest Seals (HALO Vent Seals are optional)
1 x Mylar Blanket
1 x H&H PriMed Compressed Gauze
ARS Decompression Needle optional on Civ/LE and Celox Rapid Kits.
MIL KITS: Come with all of the above plus ARS Decompression Needle and TCCC Casualty Documentation Tool

Here's what it looks like on a rig:

The DARK Shingle itself is manufactured by First Spear and it's available in Black, Coyote Brown, Ranger Green, and Multicam. To purchase or learn more information, you can check out their page here. Or, give them a follow on Facebook or Instagram.
