You owe it yourself to follow the further adventures of Eric the Trooper and his friend Karl. They frequently go abroad in the company of Boris, a leash-trained walker (AT-RT?) and fella named Bob who looks a lot like Boba Fett. Eric is a Stormtrooper. Karl looks to be Darryl's friend Karl Holtby of Karl Holtby Photography. Images are taken on a Canon 5DMK3 or a Sigma DP3 Quattro, though he posted on Instagram that he was to be sponsored by Nikon.
A few shots of Darryl Jones Stormtrooper awesomeness are laid out below. Take a few minutes to go see the rest when you're through.
Jones is a former graphic designer turned conceptual artist and photographer. Though he formerly worked in South Africa, he's been in the UK since 2009 where he has “…has travelled the UK extensively taking pictures of everything from Farmers to customers to colleagues, in the studio he can be found shooting lifestyle images, products and more recently Food for in store advertising as well as packaging [sic].”
He also creates and sells coffee paintings (which are awesome, go look at them) via his Instagram feed and is a regular contributor to the iPad digital magazine: REtouch. Follow him on Instagram, @darryljones; he describes himself as “Just a dude, photographing another dude.” That hardly describes him though.
Karl Holtby is a professional landscape and fine art photographer engaged in collaborative projects with Sigma UK and Manfrotto. He's on Instagram as well, @karlholtbyphotography.
