It's no secret that different takes on everyday items are currently big EDC selling points. Fortius Arms mostly deals with custom pistolcraft, but more recently announced the KeyBiner–that is, a carabiner and keyring hybrid. But it's more than that, there are a ton of different built-in tools and expansion options. Everything from wrenches to USB drives. And well, keys of course. Initially the KeyBiner launched via Kickstarter but is now available directly from Fortius Arms.
Here's what they have to say about it:
Fullerton, Calif.— Fortius Arms announced the release of the new KeyBiner, an everyday carry multi-tool and key-holding carabiner. This tactical hybrid features a unique key retention system that neatly and quietly organizes up to 14 standard-size keys, virtually eliminating jangling, bulky keychains.
The versatile KeyBiner is also equipped with a dozen tools: a built-in bottle opener, 1/4″ screw bit driver, flathead screwdriver/pry bar/file, and wrenches in 1/8”, 3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8” and 10mm.
Engineered for strength and durability, the KeyBiner is constructed from either aircraft-grade aluminum, copper or titanium — depending on the model. It is completely free of sharp edges and can be attached to belt loops, backpacks, purses and more. Tools and hardware are included with for easy installation of keys into the KeyBiner’s holding mechanism.
The KeyBiner is available in seven finishes: Aluminum Tumbled ($35), Aluminum Red ($40), Aluminum Black ($40), Copper ($45), Titanium Tumbled ($65), Titanium Blue ($70) and Titanium Bronze ($70). All colors are anodized, not painted, so they are guaranteed not to rub off from wear and tear. An optional 32GB slim line thumb drive ($17) fits conveniently inside the unit for easy access.
And of course, you can also open beer bottles with it.
