Frank Proctor Performance Pistol DVD

Frank Proctor of Way of the Gun, in conjunction with Superset Media Group, has released his first instructional DVD.  Performance Pistol is keenly focused on helping shooters work toward achieving an optimal balance of speed and accuracy.

We've been fortunate to spend time with Frank — he is a great instructor who brings a unique blend of combat and competitive shooting experience to the table.  With over 18 years of military service, Frank has spent 11 of them in the US Army Special Forces.  In addition to numerous deployments, including Afghanistan and Iraq, he has instructed the Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, Combat Marksmanship, Close Quarters Battle, Breaching and Sniper/Observer Operations.

Frank has a genuine passion for shooting, and got hooked on competitive shooting about six years ago.  After just one year of competing, he achieved the lofty rank of Grand Master in the Limited division of USPSA.  He also earned a Master rank in IDPA Stock Service Pistol.  Frank is a seriously amazing shooter, and a true student of the art and science of shooting.

Performance Pistol contains 69 minutes of instruction and demonstration.  Frank covers control, seeing, mechanics and movement.  Control includes fundamentals of grip and recoil management.  His methodology is detailed and well thought out.  Seeing is critical to realizing improvement in your speed while still maintaining acceptable accuracy.  This is among the more advanced and occasionally somewhat abstract topics, but very important to push yourself further.  You might want to watch this section a couple times!  Mechanics encompasses actions such as the draw and reloads.  Frank's methods prioritize speed, efficiency and consistency.  Finally, movement covers stance and posture, moving to positions, and the all-important shooting while moving.  All you have to do is watch Frank shoot a course of fire, and you'll want to hear what he has to say.

Frank's wisdom will serve you well, whether you are going into harm's way or trying to win a match.  And he's a down-to-earth, great guy to boot.

The standard definition DVD's production value is great, with beautifully shot video and clear audio.  You can order the DVD from Way of the Gun for $35.  If you're yearning for full, glorious high-definition video, it is available for streaming on-demand on Vimeo for $19.95.
