Go Learn, Central Alabama: Shootist One

Calera, AL. It's between Birmingham and Montgomery, east of Tuscaloosa, and this weekend it will see students attendingĀ Shootist One. Shootist One is a course instructed by Havok Shooting Solutions. It's focused on the fundamentals of marksmanship, reloading and dealing with malfunction problems, with the goal of preparing students to engage threats, handle problems and manipulate their weapon under stress in a safe and effective manner. New shooters are welcome to start their learning journey here. Experienced shooters should always be looking to improve themselves.

Note that the class is coming up in just a couple days, so you need to move with a purpose if you want to attend. Cost is $125. Details are here on this Facebook event page. You'll need eyes and ears, 250 rounds of ammunition, a good holster, magazine pouch, sturdy belt and a minimum of 3 mags, as well as of course a serviceable semi-auto handgun in the standard calibers.

You lead instructor will be an FBI certified firearms instructor and Marine veteran who is a currently serving LEO (he is a recruit instructor for his agency). He's worked Street Crimes, Narcotics, Patrol, Traffic and of course Training.
