Go Learn, Ft. Worth: Defensive Focus Shooting

If you go to the Ft. Worth stockyards you'll find a former 1900s cattle barn called Billy Bob's Texas. It's allegedly the largest honky-tonk in the world. That might be just the place to unwind after first attending this upcoming Defensive Focus Shooting class from Fundamental Defense. This course, which is powered by CFS, will take place at the Triple C Tactical Range in Cresson, right near the intersection of Hood, Parker and Johnson counties.

It's scheduled for 17-18 October. You'll need at least 1,000 rounds but might have 1,200 just in case. Cost is $250. Your primary instructor is Aaron Israel, a former Army officer and OIF veteran who “…started Fundamental Defense in order to teach average working men and women how to train in context for defensive situations with only limited time and resources in order to build a more well informed, prepared community of armed citizens in Texas. ”

“If you have a Concealed Handgun License and want to learn how to use your handgun in the context of a worst-case scenario; you need to get to this class. Aaron is a Personal Defense Network contributor, and a regular Texan who is passionate about teaching everyday armed citizens the fundamental defensive shooting skills they need to survive the most probable scenarios they may face.

The Defensive Focus Shooting course is based on years of constantly evolving information about what the human body does during an unexpected attack and how to intuitively and efficiently integrate a handgun into that context. Whether you are brand new to shooting or highly experienced; you will walk away having been challenged, and with a deeper understanding of how to develop your defensive shooting skills in a way that goes far beyond traditional marksmanship.”
