There were a couple reasons the Grey Ghost Precision booth was on our must-visit list for SHOT Show 2019, one being their awesome badge holders to replace the trash tier shoestring that the NSSF hands out with show credentials, but also to check out the Grey Ghost Precision Combat Pistol.
As was predicted, SHOT 2019 appeared to be the year of the Glock clone to us, the addition to the Combat Pistol lineup was yet another example. That isn't to say that Gret Ghost didn't put their own spin on things with some innovative features.
The top of the slide has some very aesthetic cuts milled into it that should, in theory, draw the eye to the front sight if you haven't embraced the red dot yet. However, if you can see the top of your slide while shooting– you're doing it wrong.
Grey Ghost Precision worked with Polymer80 to design a frame that was exclusive to them. The GGP grip texture felt great in the hand and offered a surprising amount of grip.
The side of the slide is milled with shapes that jive with the design on the top of the slide while allowing the shooter a better grip when doing press checks.
The Combat Pistol will be offered in a compact and full size. Starting MSRP is $1,499 as the pistol is configured on the Grey Ghost Precision website. The full-size pistol is not yet listed, but you can snatch up a compact Combat Pistol now.
Grey Ghost Precision also had their V4 slide on display and a couple of things about it caught our attention. The slide serrations look a lot like others on the market but somehow offer far more grip than expected.
If windows on your slide are your thing, the V4 slide has that too.
When you look at the rear of the slide you find an ordinary looking RMR cover plate that is hiding a surprise.
Grey Ghost Precision has milled the slide to fit a DeltaPoint Pro but also has a set of holes that accommodate a Trijicon RMR when the supplied shim plate is used.
The Grey Ghost Precision V4 slide is currently available for order on the Grey Ghost Precision website. MSRP is $418.95 for the stripped slide.
