Magtech Recall: Affecting One Lot Of M193 5.56 Ammunition

Magtech has issued a recall for some of its M193 5.56 ammunition that was packaged in 50-round boxes. The Magtech recall only effects a single lot of M193 ball ammunition that carries the lot number CBC 0141/18 marked on the top flap as seen below.

If you have a lot with the symbol 556A and the lot number above printed on the box's flap, call Magtech at 1-800-466-7191 and Magtech will arrange for the ammunition to be returned to them. Once they receive the ammunition, Magtech says that they will send you ammunition to replace the recalled ammo they received at no charge.

Magtech also says that you should discontinue the use of this ammunition as it may cause serious injury or death of the shooter or bystanders and it may cause damage to your firearm.

Symbol: 556A

Lot Number: CBC 0141/18

WARNING: Magtech has determined the above lot of 5.56 x 45mm ammunition may contain incorrect powder charges. Ammunition with incorrect powder charges may cause firearm damage, rendering it inoperable, and subjecting the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury or death.

DO NOT USE Magtech® 5.56 x 45mm Ball M193 SYMBOL 556A WITH LOT NUMBER CBC 0141/18. The ammunition Lot Number and Symbol are printed on the top flap of the 50-round box as indicated here.

To determine if your ammunition is subject to this notice, review the Symbol and Lot Number. If it is Symbol 556A with Lot Number CBC 0141/18, immediately discontinue use and contact Magtech toll-free at 800-466-7191. Magtech will arrange for the return shipment of your ammunition and upon receipt will send you replacement ammunition at no cost to you.

This notice applies only to Symbol 556A with Lot Number CBC 0141/18. Other Symbol or Lot Numbers are not subject to this recall.
