New MLOK, Scope Rings, and Compact Scope Mounts from Bobro Engineering

Bobro Engineering is known for its superbly engineered and crafted mounts, in particular their quick detachable scope mounts, which we reviewed a few years ago and found to have outstanding return-to-zero.

At TriggrCon 2018, Bobro displayed some of their latest handiwork.

The first is an MLOK light mount with a Surefire Scout pattern, featuring a truly ingenious attachment mechanism without any fasteners. Anyone who's had the backing plates on an MLOK constantly spin on them, or thought they had everything firmly secured only to have an attachment fall off their gun, will appreciate the simplicity and effectiveness of Bobro's design. Simply insert it into your desired slot, turn the ratcheting wheel on the outside, and an expanding wedge on the underside locks into the MLOK slot. Try it once and you'll love it. MSRP is expected to be $65.

Next, Bobro turned their attention to traditional scope rings. Their LBX (Labyrinth Index) rings feature a vertical split design, with a labyrinth-style interlocking interface between the two halves. The rings maximize contact with the optic while also precisely aligning the fasteners. Made of 7075 aluminum, the final machining process is performed on rings in pairs for utmost precision. The rings are very low profile with all edges smoothed and dehorned. Currently available in 30mm and 34mm, the MSRP is $140 for a set.

Finally, Bobro's new Compact Low scope mount is designed for platforms requiring a low mount and utilizing minimal rail space, such as AKs, M1As, Mini-14s, and bolt guns. With dual levers, the mount will provide return-to-zero without requiring a lot of rail space. The base is relieved on one side to clear the ejection port of rifles such as the M1A or Mini-14. On most bolt action rifles, the mount should be able to clear up to a 56mm objective. Constructed of both 6061 and 7075 aluminum, the mount is 3.825 inches in length. MSRP is expected to be $255.
