DeSantis Gunhide has released a new patent-pending holster that is designed for use as both a plain clothes holster and duty rig: the Tap Out. Along with the ability to use a concealment slide or paddle to use for plain clothes carry, the Tap Out features two finger breaks used simultaneously as the safety mechanism, thus making the Tap Out ambidextrous. To upgrade the same holster to your duty rig, DeSantis advised you should replace the rail cover with the muzzle cover and Slide Break, which can “be changed in mere seconds without tools” thanks to the “mode adapter” that is fitted to the holster body. Then you’re done. The Tap Out is constructed of rustproof, reinforced polymer that can be used in any weather extreme and is adjustable for cant or height.
