New Walther PPS M2 RMSc | Single Stack 9mm That Won’t Break The Bank

Published by

The Walther PPS M2 RMSc adds yet another option to one of the most overlooked and underrated single stack 9mm pistols on the market. Since the PPS' introduction in 2007, it has been the constant companion of thousands but has somehow been overlooked far more often than it should be. Maybe the new red dot equipped version of the German single stack will spark some well-earned interest, only time will tell.

Specifications:

PPS M2 RMSC
MODEL: 2805961RMS
CALIBER: 9MM
BARREL LENGTH: 3.18″ POLYGONAL RIFLING
TRIGGER PULL: 6.1 LBS
TRIGGER TRAVEL: 0.2″
CAPACITY: 6/7/8 RDS
OVERALL LENGTH: 6.3″
HEIGHT: 4.4/4.9/5.3″
SAFETY: 3
WIDTH: 1″
WEIGHT EMPTY: 21.7 OZ
The PPS M2 is factory outfitted for the brand new Shield RMSc red dot sight that has been slimmed down a touch from the original Shield RMS (You can check out Rob Curtis' article on it HERE). Now you don't need to worry about dropping extra coin on some millwork if you don't want to. Walther will include a cover plate if you choose to remove the optic from the pistol for whatever reason, but I don't anticipate that happening very often.
Why the new factory milled option? Walther says that carry optics is a fast-growing category and that they feel the PPS M2 combined with the new Shield RMSc is a “significant value” for the shooter that is looking for a slim pistol with a red dot that does not add any appreciable bulk.
MSRP for the Walther PPS M2 RMSc will be $699 but I imagine that the street price will be lower. Even at the MSRP, the pistol is still far cheaper than having your own gun milled to accept a red dot. Check out more specs on the new red dot single stack on Walther's website or the product page for the Walther PPS M2 RMSc.
