Nighthawk Custom fine tunes its Ladyhawk pistol, tweaking the design to bestow some feminine pizzazz onto lady shooters.
The first major upgrade to the Ladyhawk lineup, the Ladyhawk 2.0 is a slim framed commander sized 1911 chambered in 9mm or .45 ACP. Obviously, Nighthawk Custom has dove head first into feminine aesthetics, producing a gun with pink (but not annoyingly hot pink) 1911 accents.
Actually, Nighthawk Custom says the Ladyhawk 2.0’s barrel, aluminum tri-cavity trigger, and controls are coated in a subdued Rose Gold TICN finish. Nighthawk adds custom Obsidian, Abalone, and Zinc grips to the DLC frame (or stainless steel if you want to upgrade) for a sleek looking 1911 that certainly lets the range know you're a chick but in a subtle, classy way. (Think, Audrey Hepburn…but with a gun.)
“We are proud to offer highly unique grips composed of Obsidian, Abalone, and Zinc. While these materials have been used in various applications from jewelry to knives, this is the first time that grips like this have been offered on a 1911 pistol,” Nighthawk proudly stated. “Loved for years, we think you will find it as attractive and unique as we do.”
The Ladyhawk 2.0 furnishes a 4.25-inch barrel nestled into a 7.85-inch length frame and weight at 36-ounces. The thin-frame 1911 houses a thinned, scalloped mainspring housing and ultra hi-cut front strap designed for smaller hands to achieve a more solid grip. Nighthawk Customs readies the Ladyhawk 2.0 with Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eight Tritium night sights and completely dehorns the outfit to increase “comfortable carry,” according to the company.
The only contention here is that there’s no accessory rail; so if you prefer laser/lights then you’re straight outta luck — unless you want to fork over $350 for the Crimson Trace grip upgrade. As always, Nighthawk offers the base pistol with the ability to upgrade features, like to a laser/light grip, to create a truly custom gun.
The stylish and eye-catching Ladyhawk 2.0 comes at a price. The standard, no add-ons version is listed at a hot $4,695.
