Rainier Arms has released a new forged AR-15 upper receiver without a forward assist. This upper receiver was developed based on customer feedback who wanted lighter weight, and didn't feel the forward assist was necessary. Rainier's non-forward assist upper weighs in at 7.3oz, 1.3oz lighter than a standard mil-spec forged upper receiver. It does include an ejection port door, Picatinny across the top with engraved “T-Marks”. It's available with extended M4 feed ramps or with no feed ramps (rifle).
The Rainier Arms non-forward assist upper receiver will fit on any mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver. And for those who like to have the exact same color and texture for their upper and lower, Rainer's lowers have the same finish.
