Is there anything more fun than a handgun that lets you unleash all the pews with a single trigger pull? We think not. In this episode of Full Auto Friday, we join RECOIL's Dave Merrill and Vertx's Dave Rhoden as they demo a Glock with an autosear, a selection of parts that are designed to make a weapon fully automatic. Combined with a removable stock, this little guy definitely errs more on the side of fun than it does practicality.
This pistol came to fruition in 1982, when an Austrian special unit, the EKO Cobras (a police tactical unit) went to Glock Austria and requested a select fire pistol…and Glock happily obliged. The original select fire was the Glock 18, which had a selector on the side, versus the Glock 17c conversion used in this video which consists of a back plate replacement. To make it a bit more practical to shoot, there are several stock conversions available like the one used in this video. This platform is extremely fun to shoot, and either with or without the stock, is a hell of a blast in a small package. Watch as Dave Rhoden puts the Glock 17c to the test with and without the stock, as it happily chews through a 32-round mag like nobody’s business.
