At NRAAM, Ruger quietly debuted its Custom Shop Super GP100. And now they officially introduced the Super GP100 via email and on the Ruger website. This sleek looking 8-shot revolver is optimized straight from the factory to be competition ready. Chambered in .357 Magnum, the Super GP100 has features that, according to the company, “Takes the traditional Ruger revolver to the next level, right out of the box.”
The Super GP100 is made of stainless steel and has a PVD finish, which helps to reduce the glare coming off of the gun. As with any quality competition gun, you can fine-tune your zero with the fully adjustable rear sight and quickly acquire your sight picture with the bright fiber optic front sight.
A barrel length of 5.5-inches helps round out the overall length to 11-inches, and the unloaded gun weights 47 ounces. We handled the Super GP100 at NRAAM, and the Hogue hand-finished hardwood grips felt comfortable and high-end, making the feel of the gun worthy to be passed down through generations to come.
Other features of the Ruger Super GP100 include:
We look forward to taking this custom shop Ruger to the range to see how well it holds up to its predecessors. We expect it to be a fun gun with a purpose, just like other Ruger revolvers we've had our go with.
