We've received word from Jack Stottlemire and his apprentice Mike Baldwin of a couple knife auctions occurring at this year's Blade Show in Atlanta. One is to benefit a veteran in need; the other, to benefit SOC-F. The auction will be courtesy of Rustick Knives, which will be at Booth #53.
Here’s the scoop on the one for SOC-F:
“Jack has produced a truly one of a kind, amazing knife. Every piece has seen war. The San Mai blade was forged out of 1095 high carbon steel and a .50 Cal Gatling gun barrel. The brass guard and pommel were made from a 105mm brass shell casing fired from an AC-130U on lSIS in Iraq last year. And finally the handle is Teak wood from the deck of the WWII Battleship USS North Carolina BB-55.
Rustic Knives will be auctioning it off through Uber Group at the Blade Show the first week of June in Atlanta. All proceeds are going to the SOC-F.”
Says Rustick,
“Blade Show silent auction to benefit a combat Veteran in need. I will hold a silent auction at my booth #53 during the Blade Show in Atlanta next week. I have a $500 opening bid from a Brigade Commander at Fort Bragg to kick this off. You do not have to be present to win or bid. Come by my booth and drop your bid in the jar along with your name and phone number. You may proxy bid also.”
