For over 113 years, Leupold has been a household name when it comes to quality optics, but this year, Leupold is expanding their product line to a whole new realm. New for 2020, Leupold is releasing their very own line of Performance Eyewear. With the initial launch, five different styles will be available: the Katmai, Becnara, Packout, Switchback, and Tracer. When I spoke with a representative from Leupold, they mentioned that additional styles, specifically made for women, would be released later on this year.
All five styles are made from lightweight, ballistic-rated materials and ship with scratch-resistant polarized lenses. Three of the five styles – the Packout, Switchback, and Tracer – meet or exceed ANSI Z87.1 high-velocity impact standards for eye protection, and all styles are prescription ready with the exception of the Tracer. All five styles also include Guard-Ion hydrophobic coating, a no-slip bridge, and Daylight Max technology.
My favorite feature about this eyewear is that it provides a casual look while maintaining its functionality, making the transition from work to play seamless.
Zach Bird, product line manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. says, “We designed the performance eyewear line for every possibility. Whether you’re on the range each weekend, hiking a ridge looking for a trophy bull, or just driving to work every day, our performance eyewear line has something for you– and every model is designed, machined, and assembled right here in the USA.”
The MSRP for all styles will range from $129-$189
