Thunder Beast Launches TBAC Bipod | SHOT 2019

For quite some time the Thunder Beast has been making waves in the precision shooting community with their excellent suppressors. Until the introduction of the new TBAC Bipod, they have only dabbled in non-suppressor products. Given their reputation, it isn't hard to see why we had to stop by the Thunder Beast booth to gander at the new Bipod.

Thunder Beast has been working on perfecting their Bipod for a bit now, we first got a chance to shoot off a prototype over a year ago and recall being impressed with what they had come up with thus far. After seeing what a solid year of R&D (The TBAC guys are skilled precision shooters and spend a ton of time on the range) they have come up with a bipod that they can truly be proud of with a feature set inspired by experience rather than a good idea fairy.

As we have come to expect from Thunder Beast, the machine work on the example shown in their booth was nothing short of outstanding.

The legs are spring loaded and height adjustable from 6.5-inches all the way up to 9-inches without extensions. If you replace the feet with the extensions you now get a range of 9.5-inches on up to 12-inches if desired.

As one might expect from a bipod designed by an avid and skilled shooter, the feet are replaceable. Thunder Beast currently offers rubber feet as standard with the option to upgrade to the spiked feet you see below for a $50 spend.

The TBAC Bipod locks in the closed position as well as at a 90-degree angle with the locking tabs.

If you are looking to set the bipod up so that the legs are at 45-degrees you simply lock the legs into the 90-degree position and press a button on the back of the hinges.

The folks at Thunder Beast tell us that while the floor sample had an American Defense mount on it the option to run an Arca-Swiss mount is a possibility. TBAC says that the hole pattern is identical, all you need to do is unscrew one and screw the other in.

The bipod has a built-in tilt function making getting your rifle level easy. Once you are level and in position locking the bipod down is easy with the large lever.

Thunder Beast is currently accepting orders for the TBAC Bipod, the first units will ship March 2019. If this looks like a solution for you, the MSRP will be set at $395. Find more information on the Thunder Beast website.
