TOPS Knives recently released their first item of 2016: the Hazen Legion 6.0. They advised it was designed by Mark Hazen “for combat.”
As they describe it,
“…this sleek design is up for the task. Made of 1095 high carbon steel, this knife is easy to maintain out in the field. It is perfect for deep penetration, slashing cuts and other everyday field use. Plus, 1095 high carbon steel is easy to re-sharpen in the field when it becomes necessary. With comfortable Black Linen Micarta handle scales and a nice Kydex sheath, this blade is ready right out of the box.”
You can watch the video release here.
Hazen sought out TOPS to aid in production and evidently they were happy to oblige.
Some history:
“TOPS Knives was founded with a mission to create the highest-quality knives around. Our Knives are tools, designed and built using the extensive knowledge and real life experiences of many Operators with backgrounds in Military, Law Enforcement, outdoor professions, and Martial Arts. Specifically, we have worked with designers with backgrounds ranging from Navy Seals to Airborne Rangers, from Martial Arts instructors to survival experts, and from SWAT Team Members to Native American weapons experts. We have a designer from nearly every background that uses hard-core knives. Perhaps the best part, all TOPS fixed blades are manufactured and hand-finished at our facility in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, USA.”
“Agile”, “fast”, “light” and “slim” were some of the descriptors used by those who were able to hold it at this year’s SHOT Show. Weighing in at a whopping 11.5 ounces, including the sheath, this knife appears as though it might be easy (or at least fun) to wield.
