[VETS] The Mobile Cigar Lounge

We’ve featured plenty of cigar brands in this column, but never a bona fide cigar roller. This time, we’re pleased to introduce you to The Mobile Cigar Lounge, a boutique cigar roller who’ll travel to you for parties and private events to provide a truly custom hand-rolled cigar experience.

The brainchild of Joey Mac Dizon, a former Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and graduate of Norwich University, the oldest military university in the country. (Our model for this photo and subject of this issue’s Zeroed In column, AJ Zito, is also a Norwich University alum.)

During his time in service, Dizon served in Norway, Mongolia, and Iraq as a Marine Rifleman. After separating from service, he started The Mobile Cigar Lounge in 2018, with this to say about his experience as a cigar smoker:

“For me, it was the times that I was in Iraq; I really enjoyed the camaraderie that I felt in the smoke pit. It was those times where we had a chance to take a break from the chaos around us … We were far from home, far from friends, far from family. We had so very few pleasures in life … It was each other, and it was also a cigar. I just really love [that] aspect of cigars. Cigars are primarily used as a vessel, and the awesome opportunity for an experience is incredible.”

This focus on experience is what set the foundation for their unique business model, with a focus on the communal experience of rolling, education, and camaraderie. It’s also what has kept The Mobile Cigar Lounge focused on giving back.

Last year, they donated over $50,000 to local charities and have founded their own charitable organization, known as Patriots of the Leaf, focusing on supporting veterans and first responders through both financial charity and bonding experiences.

You can find them through their website or various social media outlets, and we encourage you to consider booking them for your next bachelor party, range day, or company retreat, with the unique team-building offered by this truly customized cigar-smoking experience.
