With the 10mm round enjoying a recent resurgence, it's no surprise that Ruger is capitalizing on the popularity by adding a new 10mm model to its Super Red Hawk revolver lineup.
The 10mm Super Red Hawk is a six cylinder design that features a triple-locking mechanism for positive alignment and an ostensibly more reliable operation. With a 6.5-inch barrel on a 12-inch overall frame, this beast is 54-ounces, unloaded.
The Super Red Hawk is equipped with a recoil cushioning rubber grip placed under the web of the shooter’s hand. This placement is supposed to help reduce the impact of powerful loads. In addition, a peg-style grip frame readily accepts custom grips.
For shooters looking to add some optics, the gun boasts integral mounts machined into the solid-steel barrel rib. Scope rings are included. Rounding out the features is an adjustable rear front sight and and a fixed, replaceable red ramp insert front sight. The revolver ships with three full moon clips.
Looking to safety, the Super Red Hawk comes with a patented transfer bar mechanism. We're told this set-up offers an additional measure of security against accidental discharge.
The Super Red Hawk in 10mm is available with a price tag of $1,159.
