Here's some SHOT 2016 SilencerCo news: another look or three at their new can, the Hybrid. Officially launched just a couple weeks back, these silencers are multi-caliber, full auto rate and magnum rated. You can (and should) use them on pistols, rifles and sub-guns. The Hybrid will handle pretty much anything from 9mm to .45 ACP and all points between in pistol calibers; from 5.56mm to .45-70 GOV and .458 SOCOM in rifle. Sound results are reportedly down in the low 120 dB range shooting .300BLK and remain hearing safe with .45-70 GOV (it's hard to tell just how quiet they are at range day with all the shooting going on, but they certainly do seem to work). These Hybrids are rated down to 16 in. barrels for .45-70/.458 SOCOM and will handle 18 in. barrels for magnum calibers of up to .338 Lapua Magnum. SilencerCo's CEO Josh Waldron was appointed to the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors recently. We'll see if he's out here and try to get a word about all the work they're doing to reform outdated silencer-related legislation. It should be interesting, given all the gun control posturing and Executive Order-ing coming down from POTUS and gun control advocates. The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
