Israel based Agilite (which is run by US and IDF SOF veterans) recently released a t-shirt that shows their support for our country's Second Amendment. They advise, “Agilite's Right to Bear Arms shirt features our trademarked Second Amendment design and is a show of support for our American Brothers-in-Arms and their basic Constitutional rights. It is made from 100% Cotton and is treated with a special coating to protect it from potential damage caused by liberal tears.”
Now, I think that's a fine stance, but Israel itself does not have anything like the Second Amendment. Yes there are lots of armed adults walking around the country, but that's a military/LE issue rather than one of fundamental rights. I asked one of Agilite's HMFICs about that very thing. He responded candidly.
“Israel not having a Second Amendment equivalent is a problem. The likelihood of an incident here is very high and while there's no shortage of highly trained people with good situational awareness, they often lack the tools to act. Now, Israel does make it easy for former IDF troops who live near threat zones to obtain permits without much trouble, but we do admire the United States' realization that any upstanding citizen has the right to carry the means to protect their family.”
Makes sense to me – maybe someday they will have some sort of equivalent law. Perhaps this t-shirt and similar efforts are part of burgeoning effort to make it a reality. We'll see. In the meantime, you can order a shirt here. Remember the sizes are European; for US sizes round up one.
