Bravo Company Manufacturing has poked, prodded and tweaked its charging handles over the last few years to create a new BCMGUNFIGHTER charging handle to serve a variety of needs.
The revamped BCMGUNFIGHTER is available in four main styles — the Mod 3 Large, Mod 3×3 Ambi, Mod 4 Standard, and Mod 4×4 Ambi with BCM delivering both a 5.56/223 version as well as a 7.62/.308. The charging handles enjoy a 7075 T6 aluminum construction with a hard coat anodized finish for durability.
Offering both ambidextrous and Mil-Spec controls, the low-profile and snag-free BCMGUNFIGHTER accommodates an array of end-users with its various sizes. The ambi design is proprietary to BCM who used a simplified mechanism to ensure correct operation and a “robust performance.”
BCM says it has toiled away on the design in order to create a charging handle that provides an “uninterrupted engagement surface.”
“Driven by over a decade of feedback from real-world combat operations, BCM has made continual design refinements and structural improvements to the charging handle in the M4 and M16 to address the current manual of arms for the weapon system,” BCM said.
The redesigned charging handle employs a new design that reduces the load on the pivot pin itself, redirecting the force into the body of the charging handle. This construction keeps energy close to the centerline of the firearm for smoother operation in addition to delivering a much more durable system, according to BCM.
BCM says the charging handles work with Mil-Spec AR-15 direct impingement systems only. The BCMGUNFIGHTERS are not compatible with adjustable gas keyed bolt carrier groups. Additionally, the 7.62 version is only compatible with certain rifles/carbines including DPMS LR-308, Bushmaster, O.R.C./LR-308, KAC SR25, MK11, M110, LaRue OSR, Noveske N6 308, POF-USA 308, Armalite AR-10, LMT 308MWS, Ruger SR-762, Palmetto Armory PA-10, Lancer L7, and Live Free 308.
Pricing on the BCMGUNFIGHTER series varies based on model and associated caliber, however, base price starts around $58.
