Bush Wars and Music Festivals, Bedrock Sandals Review

One could ask, “Where on a friggin’ Venn diagram do Bush Wars and Music festivals intersect?” The answer is Bedrock Sandals. These sandals started back in 2011 with two buddies working in the forests and on the rivers of Northern CA. They wanted a huarache style sandal for the outdoors person. Eight years later they introduced their flagship Carin 3D Pro Adventure Sandals.

Features

The sandal features a mega grip Vibram sole. The sole is one of the most important parts of a piece of footwear. It has great grip on both wet and dry surfaces in addition to being non-marking. The Carin 3D Pro features an anatomical footbed, which makes it comfortable to wear all day long.

The footbed is also has a “zero drop” to it. Some people believe that this is better for posture and overall foot/back/hip health because it puts your foot in the natural walking motion. The zero drop forces you to be mindful of how you step and walk. If you are a heavy heel walker these may not be your footwear.

There is webbing with multi-point adjustment. The only downside is that the webbing may take some tweaking to get just right. My recommendation would be to adjust the webbing, walk around and adjust the webbing further to get it just right. Taking the sandal for a five-mile hike around the Pacific NW coast was wonderful. On and off the sand, up and down hills, the Carin Pro 3D performed exactly as it should. The footbed was comfortable and webbing was secure (once it was adjusted properly).

My Experience

I have been wearing these amazing sandals consistently since I picked them up. They have been all over the Pacific NW and over to Europe. Their huarache-inspired design made them perfect for the city. Not too casual but still way more functional than a traditional leather sandal. They fit right in with all the trendy leather and fabric styles abroad.

Being able to travel from the major metropolitan area to a coastal town, jump out of the car and go straight to the ocean without changing my footwear is a must when traveling light and fast. Because of the sandal's versatility, I only had to pack a pair of running shoes and these sandals. At a little over 10 ounces per sandal, they were an obvious choice for high speed/ low drag traveling.

Being able to hike the mountains, walk thought the city both here and abroad without looking like a complete tourist while still playing in the sand and surf made this sandal a stand out choice. So whether you are chilling at Coachella taking selfies, sipping coffee at a café in Europe, or running through the bush of Rhodesia, the Bedrock Carin 3D Pro Adventure Sandals may be the perfect footwear for your adventures.
