It's that time of year again. The Emerson Spring Custom Knife Auction is live. The auction, which began with a livestream announcement on this frequency, will continue until Saturday, March 26th at 12PM Pacific Standard Time.
The Emerson Knives Online Lottery & Auction gives you the opportunity to win a chance at purchasing a handmade Emerson Custom Knife. You must be an Emerson Collectors Association member to enter. The Lottery was a couple of days ago but the Auction (which began Monday) will continue to offer up special custom blade creations through Saturday.
Here's what Ernie has to say about the Emerson Spring Custom Knife Auction:
“This year’s show will be a great one. I am producing some very special knives for this year’s show and I guarantee there will be something for everyone’s tastes.”
Go read Ernie Emerson – On the Grind.
So who’s the true Ernie (as close companions call him)? If you ask Emerson himself, he’ll tell you he’s just a poor Wisconsin kid who was lucky enough to grow up to become a custom knife-maker and founder of Emerson Knives Inc. After all, there was nothing in his humble beginnings that would have suggested his eventual worldwide popularity. “I was born in a log cabin built by my grandfather,” Emerson said. “He built it as my parents’ wedding present. My house was 20 by 30 feet long and my bedroom was in the corner of the kitchen. I didn’t come from anywhere but the ground up.”
