First Look: UF Pro’s Striker HT Combat Pants

As we reported a few months back, Slovenia-based UF Pro has released a new style of combat pants – the Striker HT. The Striker HTs are equipped with a ventilation system that incorporates mesh-lined openings in the groin and knee protector pockets to generate a cooling flow of air during movement. They have layered and reinforced knee protection, vertical zippers and draw cords to make the lower leg adjustable and about eleventy-five different pockets (there are actually only 14).

Well, thanks to last Friday's #mailcall I now have a pair to look at first hand. Though I've only had these in hand a couple of days and I certainly haven't had them out doing ninja attacks or high wire acrobatics, they do impress upon initial inspection. They fit comfortably, move easily and appear to be sewn with a high level of attention to detail. Note that I bumped up my normal waist size when providing my information to UF Pro (who provided the garment for review); it's been my experience that “European” sizes are more slim than ours in the US, much as it is with some of what comes to us from Israel. I'm not sure if they're calling us fatasses or if it's just a different standard, but it held true this time.

I'll be taking them out on the range and (hopefully) onto the local LE/FD obstacle course sometime in the next few weeks. I'll see what else I can do to bang them up and wear them out.

These are not going to be britches for the everyman, that much is clear. As should be obvious from the appearance, they're going to appeal to guys and gals who wear them on duty and in the field or those who can afford high end gear for their recreational training or adventurin'. We'll see if they're worth the $200-ish price tag. So far I'm tentatively impressed.

UF Pro Striker HT Combat Pants currently come in Coyote Brown, PenCott Badlands and MultiCam.
