FLIR: a couple devices for the masses

Every year around this time several large trade shows happen. All of us who love gear and guns know about SHOT, and if you like computers and electronics your big show is CES; there's also Outdoor Retailer and of course the AVN Awards.  FLIR debuted two new thermal devices that feature the Lepton microcamera core that makes the devices attainable by the average person. Presumably we'll see them in a couple weeks at SHOT.

Or maybe at the AFNs, who knows? *shrug*

Small enough to be stuffed in a pocket, this guy shows you what bumps in the night.

For the outdoor enthusiast FLIR has released this new affordable option in the Scout line.  Here is what they have to say about it.

If you hire a guy to check your house for insulation and drafts this is the sort of gear he will have on him.

If your looking at more utilitarian uses for a FLIR product like trying to figure out why the hell your house is so cold their new camera is more your speed.

The FLIR TG130 spot thermal camera is an entry-level camera for a broad spectrum of home and small business applications. By simply pointing the TG130 at an object, anyone can identify energy and temperature-related issues within and around a structure. From finding drafts, detecting heat loss around doors and windows, or locating areas of missing insulation, the TG130 pinpoints problems and helps users increase a home’s energy efficiency.
