After we received leaks and information about both the Glock G43X and the G48–even more images flooded our inbox. Not only were we given the technical specs of the G48, revealing some errors on our part, we also got a press photo of the pair.
Firstly, let's look at the technical specs of the G48:
First and most obviously–we did not anticipate the two-tone at all. It does look damn sharp though, doesn't it? We heard the barrel length was somewhere between the G19 and the G17, and we were correct about this (4.17-inches versus the 4-inches of the G19) but we rendered it slightly more on the generous side.
Note that there are forward serrations, which one of our G48 images included.
Also have a gander at the Gen5-style magwell flare. One of our guesses was that it may be a stagger-stack magazine seeing as how the frame is 4mm wider, but it's just as likely the grip width was increased to make the longer grip feel more substantial. About half our renders featured ambidextrous slide stops, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Our shot-in-the-dark about forward serrations on the G43X seems to have panned out as well.
Regardless–looks like we didn't have to wait for 2019 after all.
