With all things SHOT Show in full swing, we heard Hailey Ordnance plans to break out some new silencers on Monday during the Industry Range Day. Hailey Ordnance is based out of Oklahoma City, OK. They manufacture suppression and firearm components, and apparently have for over 35 years.
Here’s what they've told us.
Hailey Ordnance Company will be displaying new silencers that feature unique, patented and patent pending technologies at the Industry Day at the Range preceding 2017’s SHOT Show. With interest in silencers at an all-time high and the Hearing Protection Act (H.R. 367) picking up steam in Congress, the company feels the timing is ideal for expansion of their innovative silencer line.
In addition to announcing that they are now shipping their flagship silencer, the AeGIS (Adjustable Gas Integrated Suppressor), Hailey will be unveiling two new silencers for live-fire demonstration at the Industry Day at the Range and display at this year’s SHOT Show. The new additions to the line are a new model of the AeGIS designed for use on AR-15’s converted to fire .22 L.R. ammunition and a model designed specifically to optimize Aguila Ammunition’s heavyweight, 60 grain .22 Sniper Subsonic loading.

“With the new administration headed into office, we are all hopeful there will be a common sense change in legislation that will allow law-abiding, shooting enthusiasts and law enforcement professionals to protect their hearing,” said Stephen Hailey, president of Hailey Ordnance. “That said, we are excited to launch these new products at Industry Day as we get to watch the reactions on people’s faces when they shoot them for the first time and see, firsthand, what an adjustable gas silencer can do.”
Produced with a match grade, Lothar Walther, stainless steel barrel and a Grade 9 titanium external sleeve, the AeGIS appears to be little more than a heavy, bull barrel on the outside. However, inside the AeGIS’s integrally suppressed barrel is a unique, patent pending, gas “bleed off” port that (with a simple adjustment) allows the user to reduce the velocity of supersonic ammunition to the subsonic range. This design feature means that shooters are no longer restricted to the use of subsonic ammunition to achieve maximum suppression. Matt Wilkes, the company’s head of Research and Development, commented, “Ever since we launched the AeGIS for the 10/22 platform, we have received numerous requests to develop versions of the system for use on converted, rimfire AR-15’s, bolt-action’s, and to properly stabilize specialty ammo like Aguila’s 60 grain round. We were able to answer the call for all of these iterations.”
Media and approved industry members will have a chance for a first look and to “test drive” Hailey’s new and current models at the Industry Day at the Range on Monday, January 16, 2017.
If you’re at SHOT Show you can find Hailey Ordnance at booth #950. You can find them online here, but their site is currently under construction, so you may have to wait a bit to place an order.

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.
Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc
