SHOT Show 2019

Hands on With The Aimpoint ACRO P-1 | SHOT 2019

Since the Aimpoint ACRO's announcement back in June, there have been many memes, lots of confusion and wonder, and a ton of customers dying to know when they will be available for sale. While we can't answer any of those questions, we did get time to shoot the ACRO P-1 at Industry Day at the Range.

Since their hunting line of optics was adapted to duty use, Aimpoint has committed itself producing the best possible optic they can for hard use. At a glance, it is apparent that the ACRO P-1 was designed with the same commitment to professionals.

As soon as you look through the dot you immediately notice how clear and distortion free the window is. Even though the photo below shows a very slight tint, when we were taking shots at the 60-yard target there was no discernable tint at all!

With the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 in our hands, it isn't nearly as large as it appears on the internet. The overall footprint is only slightly larger than if one was to enclose a Trijicon RMR and smaller than the well established micro dots from Aimpoint.

Aimpoint stuck the battery door on the side of the housing removing the need to take the red dot off the gun when it is time to change the battery. While the CR1225 battery is a departure from the industry standard CR2032, the change had much to do with the available space on the housing. Even though the battery is smaller than others on the market, Aimpoint was still able to get 10,000 hours out of a battery before it needs to be changed.

As was mentioned earlier, we didn't get an official answer as to when the ACRO P-1 will be on retailer shelves but it should be very soon. The MSRP of the Aimpoint ACRO P-1 is $660, learn more about Aimpoint's new dot on the Aimpoint website.
