CARNIVORE's Hunter Games encompasses multiple facets of hunting where you can test your hunting prowess in rifle shooting, wingshooting, and archery. You can compete in all of the disciplines or just the one you fancy. During the event, vendors will be onsite with new gear for you to check out and there will be side matches for chances to win prizes. All ages can participate, so bring the whole family for hunting-centric fun and enjoy this inaugural event at Rockcastle Shooting Center. Hunter Games Rifle Competition The Hunter Games Rifle Competition is designed to test your marksmanship with the rifle you'll use this Fall – all in realistic hunting scenarios. There are two divisions for the rifle competition: Hunter: this division can be compared to that of a novice division, target distances will be closer, and competitors can drive to each stage. The round count for the Hunter Division is 20 to 40 rounds of ammunition for the course of 10 stages. This division will have a random draw prize table. Hunters can use either a gas gun or a bolt action rifle. Carnivore: this division is similar to a pro division, target distances will be farther, the shots will be more difficult, and competitors will ruck with their gear from stage-to-stage. The round count for the Carnivore division is 40 to 80 rounds of ammunition for the course of 10 stages. This division will have an order of finish prize table. Carnivore competitors have the option to shoot the match in the Carnivore Bolt Gun Division, or the Carnivore Gas Gun Division, or both. By competing in with both a gas gun and a bolt gun, you have the chance to claim the title of Carnivore's Ultimate Rifleman. Competitors are expected to use the gear they would use for hunting, gear regulations are determined by division, please read the rules for full details. The rifle portion of the competition is expected to take five hours to complete with 50 shooters in each heat. Start options are: – Friday morning – Friday afternoon – Saturday morning – Saturday afternoon – Sunday morning Cost to compete in the Carnivore Division is $200, and the cost to compete in the Hunter Division is $100. Competitors will shoot at game-shaped targets with a metal target in the kill zone. Hunter Games Bowhunter Challenge Bowhunter Challenge simulates practical hunting situations encountered by hunters in different environments. Stages are designed to test your ability to shoot a bow accurately while solving problems quickly. There will be multiple 3D Archery targets on each stage presented true to life hunting situations from land, stand, blinds or boat. This match will take about two hours to complete 10 stages. There are two divisions, Carnivore and Hunter. The Carnivore division will compete for an order of finish prize table and the Hunter division will have a random draw prize table. The cost to compete in the Bowhunter Challenge is $150. Hunter Games Wingshooting Competition The Hunter Games Wingshooting competition features a 100 bird course, set up to simulate everything from fast-dropping mallards to wary geese. Get ready for your best hunting season ever! Hunter Division shooters will shoot 100 targets over the 12 stages with golf cart rental available for an additional $15 onsite. Carnivore Division shooters will shoot 100 targets over the 12 stages and must walk the course. The cost to compete in the Wingshooting Competition is $55. Become the Ultimate Carnivore or the Ultimate Hunter Competitors who compete in all three events will have the chance to claim the title of Ultimate Carnivore or Ultimate Hunter, depending on the division they shoot. This is a cumulative score that will determine the best all-around Carnivore and Hunter.
