Kinetic Development Group has released yet another part for the UGG Boot Stock wearing rifle we call the SCAR. The Scarging Handle was designed by KDG's Nathan Murr (a USMC combat veteran, occasional RECOIL contributor and inventor of the GripStop) with heavy input from the field.
KDG says the Scarging handle comes with the following advantages depending on placement:
“The downward sweep protects the hand from “busted knuckles” due to optics mounts by keeping it down and away from the weapon's top. This also has the added benefit of additional leverage gained, and increased grasping surface for larger hands or when wearing gloves. The Scarging handle can alternatively be installed with the curve upward, which provides the user a slick side receiver to prevent snagging or “SCAR Thumb” (i.e. having the reciprocating charging handle strike your hand when using a magwell hold or unconventional shooting method).”
The rounded shape and curve to the Scarging handle allows for a better grip of the handle when manipulating the bolt for charging, clearing stoppages and locking the bolt to the rear.
Not only have they just released the Scarging handle but Trijicon MRO owners can now rejoice that their is another mount on the market. KDG has also released a SIDELOK mount for the MRO. We recently broke the news about the SIDELOK mount for the Aimpoint family of optics.
The KDG MRO SIDELOK will initially be released through Rainier Arms as part of a partnership with them and can be found here.

Most relevant issue wrt this "scarging" hammer is WTH the SCAR has a reciprocating charging handle at all - my AR has a NON-reciprocating side charging upper - which frankly is how ALL side charging uppers should work
