LANTAC brings a sleek look to its Enhanced BCG series, showcasing standard and heavy bolt carrier groups in a new Black Nitride finish.
The M16 full auto style BCGs feature a Quench Polish Quench nitride coated black finish. Available on the Standard E-BCG .223/5.56 model as well as the Heavy .308/7.62 variant, the Black Nitride finish isn’t resigned to just looks. LANTAC says the coating offers a level of corrosion resistance along with reduced friction.
The E-BCG’s standard configuration weighs 11 ounces while the Heavy lives up to its name, tipping scales at one pound. Both versions feature shrouded forward gas ports and shape assist. LANTAC says the E-BCGs design ultimately reduces pressurization inside the upper receiver caused by short barreled rifles running cans.
“The E-BCG's forward porting and unique shape assist in reducing pressurization inside the upper receiver that can be caused by short barrel rifles running suppressors,” the company said in a statement. “However, it should be noted that the E-BCG is not a complete solution for this issue and all rifles are different. ‘Over Gassed' guns will suffer to a larger extent from this problem.”
The Black Nitride E-BCGs are up for grabs on LANTAC’s site, though consumers will have to patiently wait for the Standard which is currently on backorder. LANTAC projects the Standard E-BCG will be restocked within two to three weeks. The Standard offers an MSRP of $285 while the Heavy comes in at a cool $345.
