Boots Trekking In: LOWA Z-6S GTX

As we mentioned previously, we're about to head out to the field for a couple weeks with some stalwart individuals from the LEO and SOF communities in the Maryland area. As you might have guessed, we'll be trying out some equipment while there.

We just got word that LOWA will be shipping us a few pair of their GTS-6X boots, which is a Good Thing. Our web editor loves LOWA boots the way Lena Dunham likes to whine and cry about the tragically inappropriate unfairness of it all: LOWA makes good boots, and have since before they were producing military boots for alpine units after WWI. This is probably why their Renegade is as popular as it is, and probably shouldn't be too surprising — they've been making hiking, climbing, and military boots for nearly a century now, and are now building nearly 2 million pair every month.

Watch this space for reviews on these LOWAs and on other pieces of kit coming in. We'll see how they hold up — temperatures are supposed to range from balmy to blizzard over the next couple of weeks out there.

Edit: Keep an eye on this article too.
