Manready Mercantile – Where Bullitt Himself Would Shop

The past several years have seen a resurgence in all things “manly.” Beards, axes, Dad Bods, and thankfully, bourbon. Sadly, Pop Culture thought these things were on the decline and needed to be revived. Of course, we know differently. Being a Man is not a fad. It's called (or should be called) Life.

Unfortunately however, outside of Home Depot, Harley shops, and the local gun store there aren’t a whole lot of places that cater specifically to cool stuff for guys. Between clearing forests, rebuilding engines, and leaving a long distinguished trail of broken hearts in our wake, who has time to shop? So it’s great to stumble across a site that has “all things manly” organized, itemized and properly priced for us to throw our money at our laptop screen.

Enter Manready Mercantile, the Houston based “Made In the USA” Menswear and Gifts emporium. With the tagline of “Work Hard, Live Well” these folks are right up our alley. Started by Travis Weaver in 2012, Manready’s original products were candles made on Weaver’s stovetop. Partnering with neighbor and graphic designer Roby Fitzhenry, Weaver has seen explosive growth over the past three years to the point where the team opened a brick and mortar storefront in 2014.

The Flagship Line is the group of premiere products that helped start the brand and that are all made in Houston. Among our favorite named items are the Whiskey Soaked Campfire Jerky, Throne Spray, and Tub Elixir, because after a long day of crushing your enemies, driving them before you, and hearing the lamentation of their women, who doesn’t want to have a little masculine bubble bath poured straight from a whiskey bottle?

Manready Mercantile also carries several other products ranging from skin and hair care to bar and glassware, cocktail kits for when you need an emergency Old Fashioned, to clothing, accessories, eyewear, and just cool knick knacks.

The inspirational “Start From Nothing” Flag is simple in design, but strong in messaging, as is the line of T-Shirts.

There is certainly an element of upscale urban hipster involved, but the products are practical, out of the ordinary, and definitely have that Steve McQueen cool that we love.

You can find Manready Mercantile online at manready.com, or “manreadymerc” on Facebook and Instagram.
