Mstrmnd Collective – these wallets are sick

While Mstermnd Collective sounds like an organization of ruthless villains with their boots on the throat of the world but it's really not. It's actually a couple of talented dudes who hand make really nice wallets.

Longtime friends Justin Heister and Jonah King are the guys behind the Collective, which was founded back in 2012. I was referred to their work by a colleague, checked 'em out and was duly impressed. With Christmas coming up fast it seemed appropriate to share. It's clear from the commentary and image selection on their social media outlets that Heister and King want the end user to feel connected to the crafting process. As their website says,

“It is important to know where the products you purchase come from and that they have been made responsibly with the end-consumer in mind, each time.”

Their first product was the Kickstarter-funded Slimplistic Wallet. Like all their wallets, each is individually handmade in the USA.

“We treat the hides, cut the patterns, emboss the logos, assemble, stitch, hand-wax, box, and ship each wallet. Being so hands on helps us ensure your receive the highest quality product we can possibly provide, and we wouldn't have it any other way.”

Available in assorted colors and various leathers, the light and sleek Slimplistic ranges in price from just $35 for a wallet in black Italian leather to exotic hides such as Ostrich Leg, Ring Lizard Skin, Stingray and Alligator.

Following up on the Slimplistic, King and Heister launched a second wall it November of last year — the Apex. The Apex, which is precision machined from aircraft grade aluminum and is RFID resistant, is available in either vertical or horizontal styling and in silver or gold). These wallets are sick, and they're only 40 bucks. I'll be getting one. Did I mention you can get them co-branded or personalized?

Check them out on their website, www.mstrmndcollective.com, Facebook or IG (@themastrmnd), on Pinterest and Twitter (@theMSTRMND). You can also follow their blog here.
