Multitasker Tools will soon be releasing a limited edition knife to its more discerning and “gentlemanly” customers. Built with a ceramic blade, titanium frame lock, carbon scale and stainless steel pocket clip, the F-1 is extremely lightweight. Multitasker built it (quite seriously) to wear with the HMFIC’s ‘fancy pants’.
“There are lots of titanium frame locks out there, but they all weigh a ton,” says Multitasker. “They’re little boat anchors that tug on your pants pocket; it sags them down.”
The blade of the new knife is ceramic, which isn’t used very often because it is not suitable for hard use, but it does make for an extremely lightweight, minimalist tool. This isn’t a knife you should be using to open a paint can. Only 150 of them were built. Interestingly, the F-1 will come packaged in an attractive, rugged case that is as solid as a cudgel – it’s 2 pieces of billet T6061 aluminum, CNC machined and anodized black.
Though it’s difficult to do the F-1 justice in candid photos taken on site, the F-1 is a very attractive knife. It has a black, mirrored polish. The glossy, reflective finish looks glassy blue or grey, depending on how the light hits it and the hollow grind on the blade is nice too. It has an extremely tight lockup and the typical high end OneUp Design Labs specs, standards tolerances we’ve come to expect.
Retail will probably be $200 once it is offered. Watch the MultiTasker Facebook and Instagram pages for word when it goes live.
