Nemo’s Monark Pistol Receives a Facelift

Nemo Arms was exhibiting its redesigned 9mm Monark pistols at NRA Indy 2019. Recoil previously covered these when they were introduced in October of 2018.

At the time of introduction, details were scarce. It was known that the gun would have ambidextrous controls, interchangeable optics plates, flared magwell, and interchangeable grips. We had guessed that the magazines were of the Sig flavor. At the time, Nemo gave an estimated MSRP as well.

The gun includes three backstraps which will be available in small, medium, and large sizes. Nemo noted that the Monark would come with VZ OEM grips. The Monark's bore axis has been lowered rather significantly from the prior iteration as well. The representative didn't have the exact specification on hand but mentioned he believed it was potentially up to 1/4 of an inch.

Other details have surfaced as well. The frame is manufactured from billet aluminum and contains no MIM parts. It was stated that the gun utilized a number of proprietary parts in the frame. P226 magazine compatibility was confirmed, leaving users with a variety of capacity possibilities.

On display were several different variants. The Monark will either be available with a non-threaded barrel and regular slide or a threaded barrel with a windowed cut slide. The threaded barrel model comes with suppressor height sights. Either model’s slide is cut for optics and Nemo currently has six different mounting plates available. It's unclear whether the gun will ship with all six. Choice of colors include black or flat dark earth anodized frames and DLC coated slides.

Nemo had no estimated production timeline or estimated MSRP. First impressions indicate this will be one worth keeping your eye on.
