During the Precision Rifle Expo, Nightforce showcased two products. Though both are 1-8 x optics, each scope brings some cool and unique features to the table.
The NX8 1-8×24 F1 is small but mighty. This optic is a mere 8.75 inches in length and weighs in around 17 ounces, making it the perfect compact optic for short to mid-range shooting. In addition to its compact size, the NX8 has some other handy features. The optic has a daylight visible center red dot, which works well for fast target acquisition.
For longer distance shots, Nightforce has you covered whether you prefer to hold or dial it in. The NX8 includes the FC-Mil or FC-MOA first focal plane reticles, giving you clear and concise holdovers. If you prefer to dial, the optic has a ZeroStop elevation adjustment system allowing you to quickly dial or return to zero with ease. Nightforce also included a built-in Power Throw Lever for quick adjustments in magnification.
The ever-popular Advanced Rifle Scope, know as the ATACR, is now available in a low-power, more compact option. The ATACR 1-8×24 F1 gives you all of the amazing qualities you expect from the ATACR line of optics from Nightforce, but is a mere 10 inches in length, and weighing in at only 21 ounces. Additionally, the ATACR 1-8 comes with crystal clear extra-low dispersion glass, low profile adjustments, and daylight illumination.
At 1x, your field of view is equivalent to open sights with no fishbowl effect. Like the NX8, the ATACR 1-8 reticle includes a daylight visible center red dot giving you the option to engage targets quickly and effectively. This optic comes with the FC-DM first focal plane reticle, making holdovers easy. It also comes with a power throw lever, making magnification adjustments easy, and capped turrets, preventing unintentional elevation adjustments.
The ATACR 1-8×24 F1 is the scope USSOCOM recently selected as its Squad-Variable Powered Scope. To read the full announcement, check out this announcement on Soldier Systems.
