Nelsonville, OH based Rocky Boots, est. in 1932 by the Brooks Brothers has announced the release of a new boot style in their military product line.

Here’s what they told us about it.

Rocky Ultralight C7 Military Boots

Rocky has expanded its offering for military servicemen and women with the launch of the ultra lightweight C7 military boot for fall 2016. The C7 boots were designed by soldiers for soldiers and are the lightest military boot ever offered by Rocky.

“With extensive input from former and active military members, Rocky has developed new uniform compliant boots that are incredibly lightweight while also delivering flexibility, durability and support,” said Mark Dean, VP of Rocky’s commercial military division. “At less than 15 ounces per boot, the C7 will allow for peak physical performance while not weighing you down.”

The Rocky C7 military boots are 8 inches in height and feature a flexible and durable Vibram rubber outsole. The uppers are triple-stitched for durability and offer superior breathability to keep feet cool. Speed lace eyelets and NATO hooks make for quick lacing and a secure fit. A memory foam Ortholite insole delivers supreme comfort during even the most challenging of missions.

The C7 boots are available in Coyote Brown with a minimum advertised price of $139.99.

More about Rocky Boots in their own words.

Brothers William (Bill) and F.M. (Mike) Brooks, took a leap of faith during the Great Depression and moved their families from Columbus to Nelsonville to start a shoe factory in Southeastern Ohio. In search of opportunity, the brothers set up shop in a rent-free factory with lent equipment and the William Brooks Shoe Co. was born. The factory employed 225 people and production output increased to more than 2,000 pairs per day. During the 1940s and 1950s business continued to grow. While supplying more than one million pairs of shoes and boots for military conflicts such as World War II and the Korean War, the company built key relationships with leading footwear retailers such as Sears, Roebuck and Co., JCPenney, Kinney Shoe and Thom McAn.
