Hammers, picks, hatchets, meat hooks, and of course, axes. All of these could contents of a well-stocked tool shed, or next-level Christian Grey gear. Uncle Pimpy's Axe Palace (a hell of a name if we've ever heard one) has all of these things and more. But not just any old tool will do. They take aged tools, many that would otherwise make it to the bin, and give them new life. Rust pitted and worn heads get sharpened and mirror polished. Uncle Pimpy then hand fits them to custom hardwood handles.
While you can absolutely use an Uncle Pimpy's hammer to pound nails (else' it wouldn't be much of a hammer), they have a beauty all of their own.
By all appearances, these are badass tools for badass people.
Uncle Pimpy's Axe Palace was started back in 2007 in Springfield, Oregon. What began as a hobby grew into a passion. And then into a full time career–that's as American as a Bald Eagle eating turkey on Thanksgiving with an American flag flying in the background. With fireworks. Uncle Pimpy says he goes “to work with the attitude of making the world a better place, one axe at a time.” We can get behind that 100%. The world needs more axes, and they may as well be functional pieces of art like Uncle Pimpy's puts out.
Instead of going with a traditional storefront, or even a webpage, Uncle Pimpy's Axe Palace lives entirely online through Facebook and Ebay. His wares are in demand, and going from the photos and reviews on blade forums, highly regarded.
For more pictures and information, you can visit Uncle Pimpy's Axe Palace on Facebook here, or give their EBay store a gander.
