See All Nite Sight

Oversight Shooting Technologies will be debuting and taking orders on their new open sight at SHOT 2016; the See All Nite Sight.  The previous version the See All Open Sight gathers light to produce a parallax free aiming point.  The bright area around the large black aiming triangle becomes easy to see.  Think of it as a replacement for your ironsights.  Its not like a red dot where you can see through it, you look over it.  You can see how the aiming point looks in this image here.  The See All Open Sight is now being joined by the See All Nite.  Their new sight is illuminated by tritium allowing it to work both in the day and night.

The new See All Nite will have several mounts including one to use on pistols. Word on the street is some guys really like the non illuminated one on pistols equipped with a top rail; to be fair we've heard others who hate it…which is why we'll review it ourselves.

We plan to put one of these on a lever action SBR build we'll be building over the next several months and tell you all about it.  They also included the following infographic that shows what looks like a new reticle to use when aiming.  We hope to get some coverage of this already contentious sight from the show floor or out on the range.

In the bottom right you can see that the Nite appears to use a thinner crosshair style aiming reticle. This might be due to the tritium requiring more area to help illuminate the posts at night.  Hopefully they come out with a more compact riser for these.

If you are going to be attending SHOT Show they will be at industry day at the range and they also have two booths at the show 2219 and 32009.  If not keep posted to their Facebook or here on RECOIL for our coverage from the show floor.

What is the NSSF SHOT Show?

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.

Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. Interestingly (perhaps fortuitously, for some) SHOT 2016 overlaps the 2016 AVN Awards, which would provide us with article fodder of an entirely different nature if we thought anyone there might have good trigger awareness and muzzle discipline…
