New Rifle and Leadership at War Sport Industries

There are a lot of changes happening with War Sport LLC, a well known North Carolina manufacturer. They've hired a new president, announced a new rifle, and after conversations with people inside the loop at War Sport-we can also confidently say that they will no longer be producing ammunition. War Sport also added a new color, the much desired and admired official Arc'teryx Wolf Grey.

In conjunction with the launch of the GPR-CC, War Sport is excited to announce the addition of a new color, Wolf Grey, to their product line for 2016. This new color was developed to meet the growing demand for a mid-tone color that blends well in urban environments and a variety of other surroundings. The “urban/sniper/wolf” greys are increasing in popularity in the firearms industry from guns to gear.

New for 2016, War Sport is pleased to announce the addition of a new management and leadership team. With the hiring of new President, Pat Forbis, War Sport is extremely excited about the future direction of the company. Mr. Forbis is a native and life-long resident of North Carolina and holds a BS in Criminal Justice from ECSU in Elizabeth City, NC. Pat Forbis is retired from North Carolina State Law Enforcement and has over 30 years of Law Enforcement and Firearms training expertise. He holds a Public Managers Certification from the NC Office of State Personnel and has over 20 years of Operations and Management experience.

Mr. Forbis is supported by a leadership team with an extensive background and skill set in firearms and operations. The War Sport Leadership team includes William Harris, Cecil Stringer and Chris Davis. Harris, Director of Sales, is a retired US Army Sergeant Major with 25 years of service, of which 17 years was served in special mission units. Stringer, Direct of Operations, is a former Force Reconnaissance Marine with over 15 years of management and operations experience and holds a MBA from University of South Florida. Davis, Director of Marketing, is a University of Georgia alumni with over 12 years of professional marketing experience; most recently serving as Marketing Manager with GLOCK Inc. With remarkable leadership in place and an outstanding team of professionals, War Sport is poised for success in 2016 and beyond.

What is the NSSF SHOT Show?

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.

Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. Interestingly (perhaps fortuitously, for some) SHOT 2016 overlaps the 2016 AVN Awards, which would provide us with article fodder of an entirely different nature if we thought anyone there might have good trigger awareness and muzzle discipline…
