SHOT has a ton of new and cool products on display this year. From new lights from Streamlight, Surefire, Cloud Defensive, and Modlite to new thermals from Holosun and Strike Industries to new lever-actions from Smith and Wesson, Aero Precision, and Henry.
We'll have a lot of content covering these new drops but for now, here is a quick highlight.
Coming big this year with new 9mm options, the DDPCC and Daniel H9 are two must-shoot guns.
The DDPCC is a 9mm fully ambi rifle or SBR that basically does what you expect, but with two major changes.
While the gas system is blowback, the buffer is hydraulic for a much smoother shooting experience.
And best of all, it takes CZ Scorpion magazines. The double-stack, double-feed design is great for PCCs and loading up 30+ rounds. Glock fans are in shambles, but the fact is this is a major step in the right direction.
The H9 should feel familiar since it is based on the Hudson H9 of years past.
While the story of the old H9 is a sad one, the good news is that in 2019 Daniel Defense bought the rights and patents for the gun and are now releasing their version of it.
Redesigned from the ground up, the new H9 has only one part compatible with the old H9. The magazines are different as well, but still hold 15 rounds. Good news is the mags are well priced at only $30 MSRP. The H9 isn't cheap at $1,200 MSRP, but for a novel and interesting firearm like this that isn't too bad.
While nothing is completely new this year, there a number of major improvements that Streamlight is making to existing lines.
Top of the list is the TLR-7X that now features a rechargeable battery.
Coming with 3 batteries and a charging station for the two spares, this allows you to stay charged up all the time.
Individual battery life isn't great at about 20 minutes, but for a CCW light on micro guns, it is understandable.
Big news for the rifle world is the ProTac HL-X Pro will come with an upgraded tail cap that has a click button AND a Surefire plug. This makes mounting new switches a lot easier.
Finally, the TLR-7 is not only becoming rechargeable, it is also getting a new optional HPL head that doubles the candela output. This new head makes the light slightly longer and may impact holster compatibility, but it's a big step up in CCW lights.
A big surprise for this year is that Bersa is getting into the American-made game. Starting off with a line of 1911 pistols in .45 ACP that are made in Georgia, USA.
Handling the new 1911s on the show floor was a nice surprise. Bersa has always made reliable firearms, but these felt like a big step above their normal offerings.
MSRP will be under or around $1,000 depending on the model and we're excited to try them out.
